City Council Campaign Signs

City council signs that look like city hall.

Full color, printed edge to edge, a steel H-stake in every sign and free FedEx Ground. Ward races usually order 50 to 100; with campaign pricing, 100 double sided are $836.

A designer proofs your artwork within 2–4 hours and nothing prints until you approve it.

Ward by ward, corner by corner

A council race is won street by street. The signs that matter are in supporters’ yards on the streets your voters drive every day, and on the corners where two of those streets meet. That is why council campaigns lean on double-sided signs more than most: a corner sign is read from both directions.

Count it from the votes. A ward seat that takes 2,000 votes to win wants 36 to 54 signs; an at-large seat that takes 8,000 wants 143 to 214. Campaign pricing takes 10% off the signs at 50 and above — 100 double sided are $836 instead of $929, stakes and shipping included.

The look: civic navy, a strong sans or a classic serif for the name, and the seat on one line — “City Council” or “Council, Ward 3”. Full color means the navy is a real navy and the red matches everything else your campaign prints, all the way to the edge of the sign.

Prices include the stakes and shipping. Campaign pricing comes off the signs, not add-ons, on orders of 50 signs or more placed from our campaign pages; counts are for the 24″ × 18″ wide sign. One design per order. Above 250 signs, email for a quote.

Questions from council candidates

How many signs does a city council race need?
One for every 50 to 75 votes you need, plus a third. A ward seat that takes 2,000 votes: 36 to 54 signs, so the 50 pack. An at-large seat that takes 8,000: 143 to 214, so the 250. The calculator on this page does the arithmetic for your number.
Can I put signs in the median or along the road?
Usually not. The strip between the sidewalk and the street, and most medians, are public right-of-way, and signs there get pulled. Ask your city clerk for the sign ordinance — size limits, setbacks, how early signs can go up and when they must come down. Private yards with the owner’s permission are almost always fine.
Single or double sided for a council race?
Double for corners and through-streets, single for lawns that face one way. With campaign pricing, 100 double-sided are $836 and 100 single are $674.
Can a slate share an order?
One design per order. A slate can put every name on one sign and order 50 or more together for campaign pricing, or each candidate orders their own.
When do I need to order for November 3?
A proof within 2–4 business hours, production the next business day after you approve it, then free FedEx Ground — usually two business days, not guaranteed. Order by Friday, October 23 and you are comfortable for Tuesday, November 3. Order by Wednesday, October 28 and it will very likely still make it; later than that, email us before you pay and we will be honest about it. The clock starts when you approve the proof, so approve it the day it arrives.

Ready when you are, and nothing prints until you say so.
