Canopy tents for tournaments and sidelines
Shade for the bench, a landmark parents can find, and a sponsor’s name somewhere it actually gets seen. $699 complete, printed edge to edge, shipped free.
A tournament car park is a field of identical blue pop-ups. The practical value of a printed canopy at a sporting event is not branding in the marketing sense — it is that a nine-year-old can find your tent from across three pitches.
The second thing it does is give a sponsor something worth paying for. A club that can put a local business across the valance of a tent that travels to twenty fixtures a season has a far easier conversation than one offering a line in a programme.
The sponsorship maths clubs tend to miss
A printed 10×10 is $699. Split across a season it is usually less than the cost of the kit it sits next to, and unlike kit it does not need replacing when players grow.
Most clubs we speak to fund it one of two ways: a single sponsor whose name goes on the valance, or two or three smaller sponsors sharing the four faces. Either conversation is easier when you can show the sponsor a mock-up — which is what your proof is for. Order the tent, approve the proof with their logo in place, and nothing prints until you are happy with it.
A word of caution on school and league fixtures: some governing bodies restrict what sponsors can appear on equipment at youth events, particularly anything alcohol or gambling related. Check your league’s rules before you sell the space.
Wind is the thing that ruins tournament tents
Open playing fields are the worst wind environment a pop-up will ever meet, and a canopy is a sail with legs. The two failures we hear about are a frame folding in a gust and a tent that was never anchored travelling across a pitch.
- Anchor every leg, every time, even for a two-hour fixture. Stakes and ropes come with ours; on hard standing you need weights.
- Take it down if the wind gets up. No pop-up canopy of any grade is a foul-weather structure, and anybody telling you otherwise is selling something.
- Hex-tube aluminium resists twist better than square-leg economy frames, which is what ours uses. It is also lighter to carry to a far pitch.
What a club usually ends up ordering
- 10×10 printed canopy — $699, the standard for a sideline or a tournament pitch.
- One half wall ($209) as a windbreak on the exposed side, which also gives you a backdrop for team photos.
- A 3×6 banner ($70) for the fence or the barrier, so the club name is visible from the pitch as well as from the car park.
Everything comes off one artwork file and one proof, so the tent, the walls and the banner match rather than being three slightly different blues.
Common questions
What size canopy tent do sports teams use?
10×10 is the standard for a sideline or a single tournament pitch — it fits a bench, a kit bag pile and some shade. Clubs running a registration desk or a fundraiser alongside often go to 10×15 or 10×20 instead.
How much is a custom tent for a sports team?
$699 for a 10×10 with a full-colour printed canopy, aluminium hex frame, stakes and carry bag, shipped free. Comparable full-print hex-frame tents were $879.99 to $1,120.99 elsewhere when we checked on 9 September 2026.
Can a sponsor pay for the team tent?
That is how most club tents get funded. Either one sponsor takes the valance or two or three share the four faces. Your proof shows their logo in place before anything prints, so you can share it with them and nothing goes to press until you approve it. Check your league’s rules first: some governing bodies restrict sponsor categories at youth fixtures.
Will a pop-up tent survive wind at an open playing field?
Only if it is anchored, and not in serious wind at all. A canopy is a sail with legs, and an open field is the worst wind environment it will meet. Stake or weight every leg every time, and take it down if the wind gets up. No pop-up canopy of any grade is a foul-weather structure.
Do you print on all four sides?
Yes — seam to seam across all four peaks and valances, so the tent reads from whichever direction someone approaches. At a tournament that matters more than it does anywhere else.
Can we match the tent to our team colours exactly?
Send us your kit colours or a photo and the designer will match as closely as dye-sublimation allows, then show you on the proof before anything prints. Exact Pantone matching is not something we can promise on fabric, and we would rather tell you that up front than after you have paid.
Or see how the price compares with the rest of the market.
