Why 10 ft x 8 ft?
It's the size that fills the frame in a group photo. Narrower and people crowd toward the middle with wall showing on either side; shorter and you crop somebody's head off when the photographer tilts up. How to Set Up a Step and Repeat Backdrop

- Assemble the frame: The aluminum frame sections snap together. Lay them out on the ground, connect the cross pieces, then raise the frame to standing position.
- Attach the fabric: The printed fabric slides over the frame like a pillowcase. Pull it evenly on all sides for a smooth, wrinkle-free surface.
- Set the base: Spread the base feet outward for stability. For indoor use on hard floors, the base alone is sufficient. For outdoor use, stake or sandbag the feet.
- Position your lighting: For best photo results, use two softbox lights or ring lights at 45-degree angles to the backdrop. Overhead lighting from behind creates unflattering shadows.
